    Painting & Sketching the Iconic Windswept Pine

    TWO - 3 HR SESSIONS WORKSHOP

    • Subject: Sketching and Painting the Iconic Windswept Pine Tree
    • Medium: Oil, Acrylic, Pencil
    • Levels: Intermediate, Advanced

    Description: Learn how to paint our iconic Georgian Bay windswept pine tree.  But first, you need to know how to draw it, and then secondly paint it. The first class will have you drawing multiple sketches that will be suitable for framing, and for creating Holiday Season cards. The second class you will use one of your sketches as reference for a painting.

    About the Artist: 

    Cathy Boyd is a passionate, dedicated and prolific oil painter based in Midland, where she owns and operates the Cathy Boyd Fine Art Gallery right on Midland’s main street. Her gallery also serves as her studio, and visitors are welcome to stop by and see her at work from Tuesday to Saturday year-round. Cathy is a member of the Ontario Society of Artists and an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists. Her work is showcased in several prestigious galleries across Ontario.

    Known for her landscape paintings, Cathy draws inspiration from her love of nature, particularly the beauty of Georgian Bay. She takes great joy in painting outdoors whenever possible, capturing the essence and energy of her surroundings firsthand.
