This in-house workshop is best suited for the experienced beginner, intermediate and advanced painters.

So, you’ve always wanted to be a rock star! This workshop focuses on techniques rendering waterfalls and rocks. Is this music to your ears? Sam will discuss the importance of understanding the characteristics of both water and rocks. Editing the composition will also be discussed and “rock solid” tips on using various tools and techniques to effectively capture water and rock subject matter. Artists can use their preferred medium.

Image will be provided by the instructor. However, students are expected to bring their own printed copies or work from tablets or devices. More experienced artists can use their own images if they prefer.

Sam suggests having a lightly tinted cool red under paint.

DEMO WILL BE PAINTED IN OIL. Constructive criticism, encouragement and puns are always included.

About the Artist

Sam Paonessa AOCA, OSA is a graduate from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. His career as a professional artist spanned over 30 years with Hallmark Cards.

During that period Sam traveled and painted plein air landscapes in North America, Italy and Morocco. As an active member of the Ontario Society of Artists he has been sharing his valuable experience gaining recognition as an accomplished painting workshop instructor for numerous art groups across Ontario.
