• Subject: Finding the colours in dark flowers and adjusting values for maximum impact.

  (Note: Beginners are welcome. Even though this is a more difficult painting, Marianne will assist everyone at their own level.)
• Registration:

Marianne will do a step-by-step demonstration over two days, explaining all of her techniques for realistic florals. There will be lots of time in between demos for you to work on your painting. Dark purple flowers can be hard to paint, so the focus will be on finding as much colour variation as possible in order to show the form of the petals and to capture the spirit of these gorgeous pansies.

Marianne will walk around the class as you paint to answer questions and give suggestions if needed.

About the Artist

Marianne was born in England but spent much of her childhood in Malaysia. The stunning scenery and abundance of exotic animals and plants heightened her love of nature and keen interest in drawing and painting. Marianne settled in Canada in 1980 and lives in the beautiful countryside near King City, Ontario.

Marianne is a full time artist and a sought after art instructor. Her stunning paintings of flowers, landscapes and abstracts have received numerous awards in juried exhibitions.
