**IN-HOUSE WORKSHOP** Finding Dynamic Form in Figurative Painting
TWO DAY WORKSHOPFRIDAY & SATURDAY Workshop
Successfully capturing the human form in a painting can be a very fulfilling endeavour! Andrew Sookrah will take you through a step-by-step process of creating a dynamic figurative painting. He will show you how to break down this complex entity into simple shapes, much like the old masters did, then re-constructing them into the complex and elegant form of the human body. Beginning with an exploration of the essence of a pose with a series of gesture drawings, then moving through the study of the basic structure and proportions of the human form, and finally, expressing our interpretation of the model in vibrant acrylics. This workshop will cover topics such as the role light plays in defining form and colour, effective brushstrokes, colour mixing, glazing, etc, when working with acrylics.
