Expressive Landscapes ONE FULL DAY: SATURDAY Workshop
Have you ever wanted to create a painting that conveys the emotions you feel when presented with a haunting or spectacular landscape? Artists will gain an understanding of how to achieve this, by the use of larger brushes, simplifying or blocking in the subject rather than being involved in details, creating a painting in a relatively short time - (i.e. hours rather than days!) and by using the colour wheel (provided) will gain an understanding in creating mood through colour. Artists will also either be introduced or review colour mixing and colour schemes.
About the Artist:
Shelly graduated in an Honours Fine Arts Program focusing on Art History from Ottawa University as well as a year completing a Commercial Art Foundation certificate. She has also taken various workshops over the years to gain a better understanding of painting and drawing. Years of life drawing were her beginnings in Vancouver and then she gradually switched to plein air painting. Her first Solo show was at the Victoria Arts Council in 1999 and since that time studio tours and galleries have promoted her work.
