Creating portraits that achieve a likeness, as well as express your own vibrant artistic interpretation. Using drawing media, we will explore and study light, shadow, shapes, value, edges, anatomical structure, mark-making as it relates to portrait drawing. We will work to improve our ability to see accurately and draw distinctive features to better achieve a likeness - while pushing the boundaries of self expression.


About the Artist

Anne is a graphic designer, life-drawing artist and portrait artist.

Anne graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto in 1985 with a diploma in Communication and Design, studied at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver, and continues to study at the Haliburton School of the Fine Art, OCADU and attends and schedules independent workshops. She has been drawing from life for over 40 years and has been teaching life drawing for more than seven years. Anne organizes an Open Studio Life Drawing session which has run for thirteen years; and continues to offer workshops on drawing and painting, inviting visiting artists to teach. Anne teaches life drawing at the local integrated arts high school; offers individual and private classes and, when her schedule permits, teaches life drawing classes.
