Fall and Winter Landscapes
ONE FULL DAY: MONDAY Workshop
Explore the magic of the watercolor medium in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Beginning with a morning demonstration Gord will lead you through the step-by-step process he uses to create paintings. You will work from reference photos to two finished watercolours using simple drawing value sketches and compositional techniques to condense the photographic subject matter. You will learn to interpret the beauty of the fall colours and winter’s influence on light, values, colour, and atmospheric perspective.
As well as the demonstrations, Gord will offer assistance and critiques at the end of the day.
About the Artist:
Gord lives in Algonquin Highlands and is inspired by the surrounding landscape. Gord has been painting for over 35 years and after experiencing different media such as acrylics, oils, pastels, he returned to his greatest love - watercolour.
Gord focuses on using familiar life as a subject matter while commenting on the everyday aesthetic of nature and how light describes its man forms. He loves how watercolour allows him to transfer the light and shadow in his paintings.
