Sherryl Hopper has been painting for the past 35 years. She has mainly been a self taught artist and has taken many workshops over the years with talented and competent artists in the U.S. and Canada, and continues to do so.

Supplies Students Should Bring:

Paint / art media
Paint / watercolours preferably in a palette which helps with the ability to get the colours premixed quickly.

Suggested Colours:
- Yellow (Aureolin, Raw Sienna)
- Cobalt Blue
- Ultramarine Blue
- Purple
- Magenta
- Thalo Blue
- Thalo Green
- Quin Red
- Alizarin Crimson
- Burnt Sienna/Quin Burnt Orange
- Pyrrole Orange
- Green Gold

Plus any of your favourites. If you don’t have all these colours, we can make most of them to do this painting.
Art Surface / Support
- Gator Board
- Artist quality watercolour paper (Arches/Fabriano) 140 lb.

Note: The instructor will be working on a half sheet of watercolour paper.

- A variety of watercolour brushes
- 1” flat
- Small rounds (#2, 4, 6)
- Water containers (2)
- Paper towels / Kleenex
- Spray Bottle
- Tape

Workshop Outline: Complete: All-4 Class Series, 1 only-Single Session, 1 & 2 - Saturday OR Full Day

Session 1
- We will start painting the background with all the colours that we plan to use in the chickens, by wetting it first with our spritzer to achieve a dark background, to set off the light coloured subject of chickens.
- Then also using our spritzer, we will flow in a variety of very light colours for the chickens, paint the crowns and faces.
- Then tackle the feet and then the foreground using dark shadows.
