Class Description
Working with artists with experience in creating a watercolour painting, Andrew will show how to take your work to the next level. With a focus on depth of colour, use of colour, etc, artists will go beyond obvious colours to create a complex watercolour painting with advanced watercolour techniques:
Multiple colour masking, design, unique composition, in addition to the use of specialty materials in watercolour painting, masking, salt, saran wrap, as well as multiple-colour washes, wet in wet, dry brush, then creating a painting of a landscape.

If an artist would like to do a portrait, Andrew will provide guidance using these techniques
About the Artist
Andrew Cheddie Sookrah is a Canadian artist living and working in Toronto and an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, the Society of Canadian Artists (Honourary), the Ontario Society of Artists and the Portrait Society Of Canada. He teaches regularly for The Barrie Art Club as well as other arts organizations.

- Paynes Grey
- Mars Black
- (and any other colours of your choice)
Art Surface / Support
- Watercolour paper, single sheets or in pre-stretched pads
- With at least one sheet each of cold and hot pressed

- A board to support your paper
Supplies and Tools
- Assorted sizes and shapes of watercolour brushes
- Paper towel roll
- Water containers (preferably two)
- Masking tape


OPTIONAL (Drawing)
- Pencils: 2H, HB
- Sketch pad
- 18x24 pad of newsprint

- Instructor will provide reference image prior to the start of the workshop.
