- Painting and sketching exercises to demonstrate specific techniques, including 2 point perspective.
- Development of a landscape painting, incorporating all strategies.
About the Artist
Nancy is an award-winning artist, teacher and juror. She is a Director of the Toronto Watercolour Society (TWS), Past President of the Society of York Region Artists (SOYRA) and a Master member of the International Watercolour Society. Nancy has exhibited her work in many solo shows and juried group shows including TWS Aquavision, IWS, Art Aurora, Society of York Region Artists (SOYRA), and Blue Mountain Foundation of the Arts (BMFA) shows. She has received several First Place, Honourable Mention and People's Choice Awards.

Nancy has been a guest instructor for many art societies such as the Banbury Group of Artists, Don Valley Art Club and the Marsh Street Painters, Clarksburg. She gives workshops and teaches regular sessions of classes at the Aurora Cultural Centre. Nancy has been an instructor at the Haliburton School of the Arts for many years. In June of 2015, 2016 and 2017 Nancy was an instructor for the Blue Mountain School of Landscape where the focus was painting en plein air.

- Raw Sienna
- Aureolin or Lemon Yellow (cool)
- Indian Yellow (warm)
- Quinacridone Burnt Orange(optional)

- Cobalt Blue
- Ultramarine Blue

- Sap Green
- Perylene Green

Violets: (optional)
- Permanent Magenta
- Winsor Dioxazine Violet

- Burnt Sienna
Art Surface / Support
- Smooth drawing paper, photocopy 8.5 x 11 is fine, or larger cartridge/ sketchbook
- 140 lb. cold press Arches watercolour paper several small pieces for exercises and choice of 1/4 or 1/2 sheet for final painting
- Painting support board; coroplast or plexiglass to fit paper
Supplies and Tools
- Masking tape to affix watercolour paper to support board
- 2 water containers
- Kleenex and paper towels
- Pencil 2B
- Eraser
- 16 inch ruler, clear plastic preferred

- Medium sized pointed round (#8)
- Small rounds (#2, 4, 6)
- 1” Escoda 8247 hogs hair brush (optional)
- 1” flat watercolour stroke brush
- 1” flat watercolour brush
Reference materials
The instructor will provide reference materials including sample painting, reference photo and drawing. These will be emailed to you prior to the start of class.

Workshop Outline: Complete: All-4 Class Series, 1 only-Single Session, 1 & 2 - Saturday OR Full Day

Session 1
***Prior to workshop, sketch drawing lightly onto watercolour paper. Use drawing provided as a reference. The photo is a quide only.***

Day 1:
- Looking at Art examples
- Discussion of methods used to create depth
- Create example sketches in watercolour and pencil, including linear perspective
- Begin painting
Session 2
Day 2:
- Complete landscape painting, step by step demo format
- Sharing and individual feedback
